Making Treats for Members of Our Community!

Happy October!

We had such a fun day with our Blue Stars! Today, we kicked off our October theme, Creating Community, by making some special treats for members of our community.

The kids made treats for our firefighter friends, the residents at Evans Park, our preschool friends, our Chinese school neighbors, and the staff at the church. They made dessert kabobs, Rice Krispie treats (which may or may not have been taste-tested!), snack mix bags, “turkeys” made from gloves, Goldfish, and popcorn, and lollipop ghosts.

It was such a fun way to start thinking about what it means to be part of a community and how we can make the people around us feel appreciated and cared for.

Next week, we’ll be delivering our surprise treats to our neighbors!
